GeoTradu Privacy Policy
1. Who is responsible
GeoTradu is an app by ELITE-PRO – Life in Potential, a brand of Elina Pujadas, based in Mendoza, Argentina. For any privacy question, write to geotradu.app@elitepro-llc.com.
2. Data you store in the app (it stays on your phone)
- Personal and health details you choose to enter (name, phone, medical information).
- Trip details: transport, accommodation, insurance, bank, contacts, places, emergency contact and destination.
- Diary: places you mark, the GPS route (recorded only while the app is open), times and the summaries you write.
- Preferences: language, day/night mode, text size, translator languages and currencies.
This data is not sent to us or to anyone. Android does not include it in its cloud backups or transfer it to another phone. If you turn on the PIN lock, it is stored encrypted (AES-256) and only what the “I need help” screen needs remains visible.
3. Data that leaves the phone, only when you use each feature
- Translation: the text you want to translate (up to 300 characters) is sent over HTTPS to our server on Cloudflare, which queries Google Cloud Translation and returns the translation. We do not store that text.
- Listening to a translation: the text to be read is sent the same way to our server, which uses the ElevenLabs voice service. We do not store the text or the audio.
- Microphone: when you tap the microphone, speech recognition is done by your phone’s speech service (for example, Google’s). GeoTradu only receives the recognized text. The app does not record or store audio.
- Location: used on the phone to show where you are, build routes, find nearby places, fill in the diary and alert your family from “I need help”. To show the street name, the app sends your rounded coordinates to OpenStreetMap (Nominatim service). The app does not use your location in the background.
- Currency rates: fetched from open.er-api.com without sending any of your data.
- IP address: our translation and voice servers use the connection’s IP address only to apply anti-abuse limits. It is kept in memory, not stored on disk, and discarded at the end of the day. Cloudflare, which hosts those servers, processes technical connection data under its own privacy policy.
4. When you share something
If you tap buttons such as WhatsApp, SMS, call, Google Maps, Uber or “Share”, the app opens that other app with the information shown on screen (for example, your location for a family member). You decide what is sent, and from then on that app’s privacy policy applies.
5. Backups and PDFs
- The backup is a PDF file you create, with your data encrypted with your password. You choose where to keep it (Drive, WhatsApp, email). We do not receive it and cannot open it: without your password no one can read it.
- The Trip diary PDF is meant for reading and is not encrypted: it includes the places and times of the days you choose, but no health, bank or document data. Share it only with people you choose.
6. Phone permissions
- Location (while using the app): for location, routes, diary and help features.
- Microphone: to dictate phrases in the translator.
- Internet: for translation, voice, street names and currency rates.
Before Android asks you for a permission, the app explains what it is used for. You can deny it or revoke it at any time in your phone settings; the rest of the app keeps working.
7. How long data is kept and how to delete it
Your data stays on the phone until you delete it. You can delete everything from My trip → Delete all my data, or by uninstalling the app. The last saved location is discarded automatically after 48 hours.
8. Security
Connections use HTTPS. Backups and the PIN lock use AES-256 encryption with a key derived from your password or PIN. The keys for the translation and voice services live on our servers, never inside the app.
9. Children
GeoTradu is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
10. Your rights
Since your data is on your phone, you can view, correct and delete it directly in the app. If you have questions or want to exercise your rights of access, rectification or deletion under Argentina’s Personal Data Protection Law 25.326, write to geotradu.app@elitepro-llc.com.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with its date. If the change is significant, we will also announce it inside the app.
